The Wilshire Colonnade is defined by its two mirror-image, eleven-story office towers that curve toward one another to form a broken horseshoe. Completed in nineteen seventy, the complex is faced entirely in travertine, while the central plaza between the towers is paved with Italian Carrara marble. The design, by architect Edward Durell Stone, features mature landscaping and signature elliptical fountains intended to echo the curved colonnades fronting Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
