The Douglas Entrance is distinguished by a monumental stone archway designed to frame the passage into the city. Also known as La Puerta del Sol, this structure was created by architects Phineas Paist, Denman Fink, and Walter DeGarmo between nineteen twenty-five and nineteen twenty-seven. It stands as a prominent Mediterranean Revival landmark at the intersection of Douglas Road and the Tamiami Trail.
