The North Bridge is a wooden, pedestrian-only span crossing the Concord River. It is a modern replica of the pile-bent structure that stood here on April nineteenth, seventeen seventy-five. This site marks the point where colonial militia and minutemen first received orders to fire upon British regulars, an event often remembered as the shot heard round the world.
