The Wright Tavern is a red, two-story building in the center of Concord, Massachusetts, recognizable by its double-hipped monitor roof. Built in seventeen forty-seven by Captain Ephraim Jones, it stands on land once owned by the town’s first minister, Peter Bulkeley. During the colonial era, its location between the town meeting house and the militia training grounds made it the primary hub for local government, social debate, and the dispersal of news.
