Lesser Town Bridge Tower

The Lesser Town Bridge Tower is easily identified as a pair of towers of unequal height connected by an ancient stone gate at the entrance to the Lesser Town. The smaller structure, known as Judith’s Tower, dates back to the twelfth century and once served as part of the fortifications for the older Judith Bridge. In contrast, the taller, late Gothic tower was built in fourteen sixty-four under the direction of King George of Poděbrady, designed to reflect the style of the Old Town Bridge Tower on the opposite side of the river.
