Palacio de Najas

The Palacio de Najas is defined by its steeply pitched, broken roofline featuring gabled dormers and oval windows, a style designed to echo the grand French chateaus of the early twentieth century. Built beginning in nineteen twenty-three by the architect Francisco Durini Cáceres, the mansion was commissioned by José Constantino Najas, a Lebanese merchant, and his French wife, Suzanne Delavelle. Originally named Villa Susana, the house was constructed as the couple sought to establish a residence that reflected their refined tastes within the rapidly growing La Mariscal neighborhood.
