Helsinki Ice Hall

The Helsinki Ice Hall is a prominent concrete and steel arena recognizable by its functional, modernist architecture from the nineteen sixties. Located on Nordenskiöldinkatu, it sits within a central cluster of the city’s major sports venues, including the nearby Olympic Stadium. Opened on October first, nineteen sixty-six, the facility was designed by architects Jaakko Kontio and Kalle Räike. It stands as the oldest indoor ice arena in Helsinki and the second oldest in all of Finland.
