The Kallio Church stands as a massive, grey granite landmark atop a hill in Helsinki. Designed by architect Lars Sonck and completed in nineteen twelve, the building features a high, prominent tower that marks the northern end of a two and a half kilometer long street axis. Its design reflects the National Romantic style, utilizing traditional Finnish materials and decorative motifs inspired by nature.
