Helsinki Central Library Oodi

educational

Helsinki Central Library Oodi is defined by a sweeping exterior of Finnish spruce wood that curves upward, forming a bridge-like canopy over the ground floor entrance. Inaugurated in December two thousand eighteen, the building stands at the edge of Kansalaistori square, positioned directly opposite the Parliament House. This location was purposefully chosen to symbolize the connection between the government and the citizenry, reinforcing the library's role as a space for democracy, learning, and free expression.
