The name Lepakko, or Bat, marks a site that shifted through distinct lives in the Ruoholahti district. It began in nineteen forty as a warehouse for a paint and varnish company, which featured a logo of a butterfly on its exterior wall. Following a popular television series that aired in the late nineteen sixties, observers began to see the logo as a bat, and the building earned its enduring nickname.
