Löyly is distinguished by its faceted wooden exterior, a sculptural cloak of heat-treated pine that wraps around a rectangular black box housing the interior saunas and restaurant. The building sits directly on the rocky coastline of the Hernesaari district, its low, elongated profile designed to blend into the landscape of what is intended to be a future coastal park.
