Lodhi Art District is marked by the large-scale, vibrant murals that cover the walls of the residential blocks in Lodhi Colony. Built between nineteen forty-one and nineteen forty-three, this neighborhood was the final housing estate developed by the British in Delhi. While these blocks were once plain, state-owned structures designed by Walter Sykes George, they have been transformed into India’s first open-air public art district.
