Qudsia Bagh is defined by its massive, weathered western gateway, which stands as a silent remnant of a once-vast eighteenth-century palace and pleasure garden. Built in seventeen forty-eight by Qudsia Begum, the wife of Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah, the site was originally a lush, Persian-style charbagh layout with water channels, pavilions, and a private royal mosque.
