The Naga Yon Hpaya, or Naga-yon Temple, is distinguished by its central shrine where a twice-life-size standing Buddha is protected by the hood of a large stone naga serpent. Built in the late eleventh century by King Kyanzittha, the temple stands south of Myinkaba village and is recognized for its Mon-style architecture, featuring curvilinear roofs, corner stupas, and receding brick terraces that served as a prototype for the larger Ananda Temple nearby.
