Gu Byauk Gyi Myin Kabar

The Gu Byauk Gyi temple in the village of Myinkapa is distinguished by a tall, tapering spire in the Indian shikhara style rising above a square base shaped like a traditional water pot. Built in eleven thirteen, this structure serves as a dedicated canvas for some of the oldest and most intact frescoes in all of Bagan. Inside, the walls are covered in hundreds of mural paintings that illustrate the Jataka tales, which recount the previous lives of the Buddha.
