Bait Al Zubair is defined by its collection of carved wooden doors, which open into a complex of five distinct buildings and a traditional garden. This site began as the family home of Sheikh Al Zubair bin Ali, a man who served as a minister and adviser to three former Sultans. Built in nineteen fourteen, the house provided a gathering place for the city's elite before being transformed into Oman’s first private museum.
