Gao’s Grand Courtyard is a sprawling complex of eighty-six rooms that sits behind an inconspicuous gate at number one hundred forty-four Beiyuanmen Street. Built during the Ming Dynasty, it once served as the residence of the scholar Gao Yuesong. The property is characterized by a traditional layout of three interconnected courtyards, where brick and wood structures are arranged in a strict, symmetrical pattern.
