Baiye Wenzhou Wonton is a two-story restaurant on Zhongzheng Road, recognizable by its narrow layout and the steep staircase leading to its main dining area. Founded in nineteen seventy-six by Ye Ho-lin, a former chemistry teacher who pivoted to cooking after his friend's business closed, the shop specializes in Wenzhou-style wontons and other Jiangnan-inspired dishes. The name "Baiye" comes from a favorite dish of the founder’s mother, who taught him her family recipes.
