Maiden's Tower

The Maiden’s Tower rises from a tiny, solitary islet in the Bosphorus, positioned about two hundred meters off the coast of Üsküdar. This stone structure, with its six floors and central lantern, is encircled by water, distinguishing it from any other building along the Istanbul shoreline. While its history likely stretches back to ancient times, the current stone iteration largely reflects an eighteenth-century reconstruction.
