The Sandon Complex on Oakfield Road is identifiable by its distinctive Art Deco frontage and its location just a short walk from Anfield Stadium. Built in eighteen seventy by the local brewer John Houlding, the property was originally designed as an outlet for his beer. Houlding had deep ties to the local community, serving as the first president of Everton Football Club and later founding Liverpool Football Club in eighteen ninety-two within these walls.
