Everton Lock-up

The Everton Lock-up is a red sandstone building shaped like a round drum with a conical roof. Built in seventeen eighty-seven on Everton Brow, this Georgian structure originally served as an overnight holding cell for local drunks and those accused of minor crimes, who were kept behind its walls until they could be brought before a local justice of the peace the following morning.
