Dale Street is recognized by its dense collection of Victorian civic and commercial buildings, many of which are designated as Grade II listed structures. As one of the original seven streets laid out when the borough of Liverpool was founded in twelve hundred and seven, it follows the path of a natural creek that once fed the Pool of Liverpool. The street historically served as a vital corridor for commerce and was a primary coaching route where dozens of carriages departed daily for cities like London and Manchester.
