The Lamb pub on Lamb's Conduit Street is identifiable by its dark, Victorian exterior and the rare, hinged glass partitions known as snob screens inside. Built in the seventeen twenties, the pub takes its name from William Lamb, a sixteenth-century benefactor who funded water repairs for the local conduit. The building became a fixture of the area's social life during the Victorian era, when much of its current wood-paneled interior and ornate detailing were installed.
