The Boy Fountain sits north of the junction between Birdcage Walk and Queen Anne's Gate in Saint James's Park. You can identify this piece by the marble figure of a young boy holding a water jar, which rests atop a granite plinth. When it was first unveiled in eighteen sixty-three, the fountain functioned as a drinking station for the public. Water once flowed from the mouths of four fish carved into the base, collecting into scallop-shaped basins designed for people to drink from.
