National Maritime Museum

museum

The National Maritime Museum occupies the former site of the Royal Hospital School, a collection of buildings that once housed the children of sailors. You can identify the museum by its extensive grounds within Greenwich Park and its integration with the seventeenth-century Queen's House, which sits at the center of the complex. Established by an Act of Parliament in nineteen thirty-four, the institution opened to the public on April twenty-seventh, nineteen thirty-seven, after King George VI and Princess Elizabeth traveled along the Thames to preside over the ceremony.
