Tubsinte Hill

Tubsinte Hill is a one hundred thirty-five-foot summit rising along the western edge of San Francisco Bay. The name originates from a Yelamu Ohlone village that existed in the nearby Visitacion Valley during the mid-to-late eighteenth century. Before Spanish colonization, the Yelamu people maintained a seasonal cycle, moving between inland summer settlements and winter villages like Tubsinte that were positioned near the bay’s abundant tidal marshes.
