Gilman Playground Park

Gilman Playground is identified by a rubberized play surface that depicts a shoreline, a design feature chosen to represent the park’s historical proximity to the San Francisco Bay. Located at the intersection of Gilman and Ingerson Avenues in the Bayview district, the site has been a neighborhood fixture since at least the early nineteen thirties. Aerial photographs from nineteen thirty-four show the area being graded, a moment captured during the park's initial development.
