K.C. Jones Playground features an improved ball field and a spacious picnic lawn. This park in the Bayview neighborhood is named for the basketball Hall of Famer who moved to San Francisco from Texas in nineteen forty-two. Growing up in the nearby Double Rock Housing Development, Jones spent his afternoons here playing football and baseball. He later became a legend with the Boston Celtics, winning eight NBA championships as a player and two more as a coach.
