Hunter's Point

Hunters Point is a prominent peninsula extending into the San Francisco Bay, defined by the expansive, decommissioned naval shipyard that anchors its waterfront. Once a site used by the Ramaytush Ohlone for fishing and shell harvesting, the area later transformed into a bustling industrial center. By nineteen sixteen, the shipyard housed dry docks that ranked among the largest in the world, eventually drawing thousands of civilian workers to the region during the second world war.
