Camera Obscura Art Lab

The Camera Obscura Art Lab is a midcentury building at fourteen fifty Ocean Avenue, distinguished by its simple, understated form tucked into the greenery of Palisades Park. Inside this structure hides a mechanical relic from the nineteenth century: a camera obscura. When the device is active, a rotating turret on the roof uses a system of mirrors and lenses to project a live, moving image of the Pacific coast onto a large white table in a darkened upper room.
