KOTR Konpa Dance Studio is recognizable as the home of Haitian Konpa in the Buena Vista area of Miami. It holds the distinction of being the first dance studio in the world that is both Haitian-owned and Haitian-operated specifically to teach the dance form of Konpa. This partner dance, which emerged in Haiti during the mid-nineteen fifties, relies on a close embrace and rhythmic, flowing movements to connect partners to the beat.
