A teal and white mural depicting alternative music icons covers the exterior of Sweat Records, marking the entrance to this Miami cultural hub. Opened in two thousand five by Lolo Reskin and Sara Yousuf, the shop emerged from a desire to provide the city with a dedicated independent space for music discovery. Its current location in the Little Haiti neighborhood is the result of years of movement, having survived the destruction of an original Edgewater storefront by Hurricane Wilma and a temporary stint inside the now-closed Churchill’s Pub.
