Greenlawn Cemetery

Greenlawn Cemetery is distinguished by the two ponds, Sargent Pond and Fountain Pond, that anchor its sprawling landscape. Established in eighteen oh seven to serve the Northfields area, it has grown into the largest municipal burial ground in Salem. The cemetery grounds hold the F. Carroll Sargent Arboretum, a collection of more than two hundred species of trees and shrubs from regions as diverse as Siberia, Japan, and North America.
