Hotel San José

Hotel San José is a forty-room urban retreat defined by its ivied stucco walls and a lush, hidden garden courtyard. Originally built in nineteen thirty-six as an ultramodern motor court, the property served travelers on the highway leading south out of Austin. Following the construction of Interstate thirty-five in the nineteen sixties, the area declined, and the site eventually became a low-rent apartment complex known for crime and poverty.
