The Juma Mosque in the Icherisheher is identifiable by the central conical dome that rests upon four internal pillars. This site has functioned as a place of worship since at least the twelfth century, though the structure visible today was largely financed by the Baku philanthropist Haji Sheikhali Agha Dadashov and completed in eighteen ninety-nine.
