Blinde-Ezelstraat

Blinde-Ezelstraat is a narrow, arched pedestrian passage linking the Burg square to the Fish Market. Stone vaults connect the City Hall to the former Civil Registry building directly above the walkway. On the side facade of the City Hall, a black square of masonry remains uncleaned from restoration work performed in the nineteen-nineties. This patch of stone preserves the soot that accumulated on the building when the passage remained open to vehicle traffic.
