Fish Market

The Vismarkt, or Fish Market, is identifiable by its distinctive neoclassical colonnade, a series of stone pillars that create a covered arcade open to the street. While fish trading has occurred in Bruges since the fourteenth century, this specific structure was designed by city architect Jean-Robert Calloigne in eighteen twenty.
