Wat Damnak is defined by the rows of ornate, white stupas that hold the remains of local citizens within its quiet garden grounds. The site takes its name from the Khmer word for palace, reflecting its history as the royal residence of King Sisowath between nineteen oh four and nineteen twenty-seven. After the king moved his residence, the site transitioned into a Buddhist monastery.
