The FCC Angkor by Avani is distinguished by the whitewashed, Art Deco-style mansion at its center, a building constructed in nineteen seventeen to serve as the residence for the French colonial governor of the region. Surrounded by centuries-old trees along the banks of the Siem Reap River, this structure later became the local chapter of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club.
