Lumbermen's Arch

The Lumbermen's Arch consists of three massive cedar logs configured as a single horizontal beam propped up by two angled supports. This structure stands on the north side of Stanley Park as a tribute to the British Columbia lumber industry. It replaced an earlier, more elaborate monument known as the Bowie Arch, which was constructed in nineteen twelve to commemorate a visit by the Duke of Connaught.
