Meštrovićeve Crikvine-Kaštilac is a sixteenth-century fortified mansion that the sculptor Ivan Meštrović converted into a site for his artistic work. The complex features stone walls on the southern slopes of Marjan Hill, which enclose a courtyard and the Church of the Holy Cross. Meštrović purchased this former property of the Capogrosso family in nineteen thirty-nine and directed the reconstruction of the grounds to house his creative projects.
