Old Jewish cemetery

The Old Jewish Cemetery in Split is defined by a one point nine meter tall stone fence enclosing roughly seven hundred tombstones on the eastern slope of Marjan Hill. Established in fifteen seventy-three, it is the oldest Jewish cemetery in Croatia and occupies land acquired by Daniel Rodrigo, a Portuguese refugee who helped transform Split into a vital Venetian trading port.
