Fountain + Cup

On Marmontova Street stands the Pirja Fountain, a bronze sculpture featuring a clenched hand with a thumb tucked between the index and middle fingers. This gesture, known locally as the figa, is aimed directly at a funnel-like vessel below it. Unveiled in nineteen ninety-eight, the fountain remains the only monument built in Split during the difficult economic period of the nineteen nineties.
