The bronze statue of Bernard Vukas stands near the entrance of the Poljud stadium, capturing the footballer in motion. Known to everyone as Bajdo, Vukas arrived in Split in nineteen forty-seven after being clandestinely brought from Zagreb by his future teammates. He went on to play over six hundred games for Hajduk Split, becoming the club's most celebrated figure.
