The Riva is a broad, palm-lined promenade stretching about two hundred fifty meters along the southern edge of the ancient Diocletian’s Palace. Its surface is paved in white stone and spans fifty-five meters in width, creating the proportions of an elongated public square rather than a simple walkway. This waterfront serves as the main social hub for the city, connecting the Adriatic Sea to the south with the dense Roman, medieval, and modern layers of the Old Town to the north.
