KV17 - Tomb of Seti I

historic

The tomb of Seti the First, known to archaeologists as KV-17, stretches over one hundred and thirty-seven meters into the limestone bedrock of the Valley of the Kings. It is recognized as the longest and deepest royal tomb in the valley, featuring a distinctive joggled axis layout that includes a series of corridors, pillared halls, and a vaulted burial chamber. Every wall is covered in intricate, painted raised reliefs depicting funerary texts like the Book of Gates and the Litany of Ra, many of which remain remarkably vibrant today.
