The Pont des Amours, or Bridge of Love, is a slender, cast-iron footbridge that spans the entrance to the Vassé Canal where it meets Lake Annecy. It links the lush, shaded Jardins de l’Europe to the open expanse of the Pâquier esplanade. Inaugurated in nineteen oh seven, this structure replaced earlier, less practical designs that failed to provide enough clearance for the boats moving between the lake and the town’s canal system.
