The Église Saint-François de Sales stands out for its Italian-inspired Baroque facade, which is divided into two levels and topped by a triangular pediment. Originally built starting in sixteen forty-two, the church served as the chapel for the first monastery of the Order of the Visitation, a religious order founded in sixteen ten by François de Sales and Jeanne de Chantal. For over a century, the building housed the tombs of its two founders, who were venerated here by pilgrims and royalty alike.
