The Pelouse Jean Monnet is a broad expanse of grass located within the Parc de l'Île Saint-Germain in Issy-les-Moulineaux. This island was once a military site, and for years, planners intended to pave it over as a harbor zone. Local officials and residents successfully blocked that plan, leading to a massive transformation that replaced old structures with millions of cubic feet of soil and thousands of new trees.
