House Architecture Villa Romée

cultural

The Villa Romée stands out for its structural cross shape, where a three-story building intersects with a single-story wing. Designed by architects Georges-Henri Pingusson and Paul Furiet and completed in nineteen twenty-eight, the house features a two-story circular section at its southern end punctuated by tall, vertical windows. Its design broke from the traditional styles of the era, drawing inspiration from the industrial lines of aviation and maritime engineering, which Pingusson combined with regionalist elements like rounded tile roofing.
